Avalanche Dynamics i

A conceptual 2D visualisation of segregation in avalanche debris. Toggle between dry (sieving-influenced) and wet/cohesive (density-influenced) regimes to see how agitation, weakened percolation, and density contrast shape the tendency for larger, lower density-ratio objects to drift upward relative to the moving debris.
Static Friction (Settled)
Disclaimer: This 2D simulation is an educational visualisation intended to illustrate segregation tendencies under idealised conditions (dry: kinetic sieving/squeeze expulsion; wet/cohesive: weakened percolation with density effects treated as more influential). It does not model terrain, snow microstructure, or the full spectrum of avalanche flow regimes, and it is not a predictive model. This visualisation is for informational purposes only and does not represent or guarantee AvaBuoy’s actual performance in field conditions.
